Day 43 – Salt Lake City
Salt Lake City was not what I expected. Everyone had been telling me about the strict rules and the high influence of Mormon culture. There was a large Mormon population but this did not affect the city. I was told how Utah was a dry state with few places you could go to get a drink.
By the way this wasn’t my only priority, but I like to find out the truth and so I went to a local pub / brewery. Squatters Brewery of Salt Lake make some of the most delicious beers. Not to mention some incredible food. We took the whole team out and I think a night of beer and good food did everyone the world of good. I recommend it to anyone who might be travelling to or through Salt Lake. I couldn’t go too heavy on the booze as I had a race tomorrow and I was aiming to win!
