Day 38 – Balloon riding in New Mexico

Even though yesterday had been brutal, it was no rest for the wicked. We were up at 4am to travel in to the town of Taos to meet our Hot Air balloon contact at Pueblo Balloons in Taos. We travelled up to the Rio Grande Gorge and started setting up the Balloon. It was not my first time in a hot air balloon but what made me excited was the fact we were going to be trying to fly in to the gorge! I couldn’t wait. Flying up see the New Mexico landscape was stunning. Not to mention my HP elitepad had great service up there to tweet. The winds were tricky though and it wasn’t working as well for our pilot as we might have hoped. I could see Russ getting impatient.

When the balloon landed we drove to the oldest city in America. Taos Pueblo where we met Flowers. It was stunning. As soon as we were there it felt like we were gone though as we continued to Colorado.
