All you need to enjoy this ride is a little off-road experience and a huge appetite for adventure! The trip offers a fantastic combination of dirt roads and tarmac accompanied by the most astounding scenery. Patagonia is a stunning, remote region across Chile and Argentina. Sparsely populated by humans, this true natural haven is a complete wilderness of ever changing landscapes, from the snow-covered Andes, to coastal coves of Chile. Patagonia is home to Puma, Penguins and the great Condor.
With such a vast and varying landscape, the beauty here is undeniable. Most of this journey is spent riding off the beaten track and through the last of the untouched wilderness on the epic ride to Ushuaia, ‘Fin Del Mundo’ – ‘the end of the world’.
Snake through the Andes from Chile to Argentina. You will be staying in tranquil lakeside lodges in tiny German communities, as well as visiting some larger locations along the way. Ride through to Bariloche, the chocolate town, reminiscent of a Swiss ski resort nestled in Patagonia. Next on to El Calafate, situated on the southern border of Lake Argentino and a popular hub for tourists visiting different destinations. In this case we are headed to Los Glaciers National Park and the Perito Moreno Glacier.
You will then ride across the sea route of Straits of Magellan, the most important natural passage between the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans to Tierra Del Fuego – the Land of Fire and down to the southerly most city in the world Ushuaia, Fin Del Mundo. Here you can indulge in the vast wildlife including penguins, seals and orcas as well as spend some time discovering local life in Ushuaia.
Note: There is up to 200 miles between stops on some days with little or no services in between. This is a challenging trip, but one of the most rewarding and unforgettable.
