Discover a new way to see a unique aquatic habitat.

Norfolk may not be top of your list of destinations when you’re looking for an epic adventure, but the broads, a unique man made environment which has turned into an amazing habitat for a wide range of animals can offer just that.

You will see most people on the broads on a boat, but occasionally you come across a hardy soul who is travelling a long the rivers and broads under their own power, swimming. This is a great way to see large stretches of this area especially as much of the area that swimmers can tackle is off limits to boats so you don’t even have to worry about being churned up by a particularly aggressive houseboat.

The area is one of outstanding natural beauty, and swimming in the picturesque River Bure is a perfect adventure for anyone who wants a great chance for wild swimming without heading to the other side of the world.

Once you’ve reached your destination in Horstead, we recommend taking a return journey on the historic steam railway which chugs through the beautiful rural landscape which Norfolk is so famous for. A summer day in this rural utopia is beautiful, the huge skies extand for miles all around, and the views are something special.
