Dare to try something different, go skiing in the Andes.
Skiing in the Andes might not be the first thing that springs to mind for your summer holiday. But this is a complete mistake. For those of us who know Chile well, it’s not a surprise that Chile is a very prestigious skiing destination in the summer, as the pistes are usually at their whitest during July and August.
This is a holiday with a difference, you’ll be able to explore sun-drenched canyons and gaze at the beautiful star studded skies in the Atacama desert before a whole week’s worth of skiing on the Andean slopes. You can even stay in the country’s most impressive ski resort, Valle Nevado.

So on Day 1 you’ll be flying to Chile from the UK, on Day 2 you’ll arrive in Santiago and enjoy a rest day at the Hotel Atton El Bosque, located in a smart area of the capital. Days 3-6 you’ll fly north to Calamara and continue by road to San Pedro de Atacama. Here you’ll get to spend four nights at the small Hotel Kimal, and enjoy the varied scenery of the Atacama; full of lunar landscapes, beautiful snow-capped volcanoes, geysers and salt flats. Days 7-13 are spent in Valle Nevado- considered the finest ski resort in Chile with modern facilities. It has 25 runs and is suitable for intermediate level skiers as well as beginners. You’ll spend your down time in the Hotel Puerta del Sol on half board.
