Enjoy another popular tour from 2011 and 2012.

A sell-out tour in 2011 and 2012, this includes some of our favourite routes and destinations! This year we have added an extra night in Sardinia, allowing us more time to explore the centre of the island. After a pleasant ride through France and Switzerland, we arrive at the Italian Riviera resort of Santa Margherita Ligure, a beautiful quiet spot right next to the tiny but stunning village of Porto Fino. We then catch the overnight ferry to the Italian island of Sardinia with its sweeping and spectacular biking roads, equally spectacular beaches and its fascinating mix of Mediterranean cultures. We’ll spend one night in a beach front hotel on the east coast and two nights in the lively and historic fortified port of Alghero. Here we have the chance to take a boat trip to visit the extraordinary caverns nearby, sample some of the island’s stunning beaches or explore more of the great roads, beforestrolling into the historic centre for a drink and a meal in the old town.

Crossing to the French island of Corsica we land at another little port, Bonifacio, almost hidden in a gap behind the imposing cliffs. Here our hotel and its restaurant are right at the water’s edge, providing the perfect setting to sip a cooling drink and watch the yachts arriving from all around the Mediterranean. Our route takes the road up the centre of the island, which is another great ride with sweeping bends and superb mountain scenery. Ajaccio and Corte, both historic capitals with plenty of places of interest to visit, can be included on short diversions from the route. We then pause for a break on Cap Corse, where you can explore the tight winding roads and more beautiful coastline, or relax by the hotel pool. Refreshed, we cross back to Nice on the mainland and head home via the famous Route Napoleon – yet another great biking road, perhaps the most famous of them all. Riders joining this tour will get to ride some of the finest roads around two of the most exclusive and beautiful islands in Europe.
