Day 1 Lima
Get acquainted with Lima, Peru’s modern capital. There’s plenty to see in this bustling city, from colonial mansions to vibrant plazas, fine museums and ornate churches.

Day 2 Paracas/ Ballestas Islands
Soak up the natural beauty of this magnificent coastal reserve. Enjoy a boat ride around the Ballestas Islands which is teeming with wildlife.

Day 3 Nazca
Visit Peru’s famous Nazca Lines and admire the extraordinary images and line formations etched into the ground, some of which are an enormous 10km in length.

Day 4 Puerto Inca
Glimpse into the past at the eerie Chauchilla Cemetery which boasts naturally preserved ancient human remains. Camp out near Puerto Inca.

Days 5-6 Arequipa
Visit Arequipa and be enchanted by the city’s dazzling white buildings and colonial charm. Visit the imposing Monasterio de Santa Catalina or simply relax in the beautiful main plaza.

Days 7-8 Chivay/ Colca Canyon
Survey the mighty Colca Canyon and admire the graceful flight of the Andean condor.

Day 9 Raqchi Homestay
While away the hours by a fire, singing and dancing with the locals.

Days 10-11 Cuzco
A fascinating fusion of Inca and Spanish culture, Cuzco is truly the heart and soul of Peru. Explore the many Baroque churches or visit the city’s impressive Inca ruins.

Days 12-15 Classic Inca Trail/ Quechua Community Trek/ Ollantaytambo

Visit the mighty Sacsayhuaman ruins before embarking on an unforgettable Andean trek. Follow the steps of the ancient Incas through breathtaking scenery and past remote Quechua villages.

Days 16-17 Machu Picchu/ Cuzco
Experience the sublime wonder of incredible Machu Picchu. Uncover the mysteries of this enchanting lost city on a guided tour then explore the citadel at your leisure. Enjoy the incredible view from Huayna Picchu or simply absorb the atmosphere of this amazing site. Back in Cuzco, stroll cobblestone streets or unwind at one of the city’s cosmopolitan cafes. For an insight into indigenous cultural traditions, visit the Centre for Traditional Textiles or the heart-warming Art Museum of Andean Children.

Day 18 Puno
Known as the folklore capital of Peru, Puno boasts as many as 300 traditional dances and is renowned for lively fiestas celebrated throughout the year.

Days 19-20 Lake Titicaca/ Copacabana
Cruise the vast waters of Lake Titicaca and visit the fascinating floating islands constructed and inhabited by the Uros.

Days 21-23 La Paz
Travel to Bolivia and visit La Paz. Wander through one of the city’s colourful markets or perhaps experience the adrenalin rush of cycling down one of the world’s most dangerous roads.

Day 24 Challapata
Travel to the sleepy country town of Challapata where we spend the night.

Day 25 Livichuco
Explore the small Andean village of Livichuco, a remote Bolivian retreat that few tourists are lucky enough to experience. Be welcomed into the Aymara community and receive an introduction to their Qaqachaqa culture.

Day 26 Potosi
Gaze at the spectacular Andean scenery en route to Bolivia’s colonial mining town of Potosi. An optional tour of a working mine is an eye-opening and somewhat hair-raising way to experience local life.

Days 27-28 Uyuni/ Salar de Uyuni
Visit Salar de Uyuni, the world’s largest salt flat, for an astonishing adventure. During the dry season the salar forms a blinding blanket of white; however, when wet it acts as a giant mirror, reflecting the sky and surrounding volcanoes. Continue across the Bolivian altiplano past red lakes and steaming volcanoes.

Day 29 Bolivian Altiplano
Cross the spectacular Bolivian altiplano, past red lakes and steaming volcanoes. Characterised by adventurous routes through challenging terrain, get set for an unforgettable experience.

Day 30 San Pedro de Atacama
Depart Bolivia and travel across the border into Chile, camping at one of the world’s best places for stargazing. By day, visit the surreal lunar landscape of Valle de la Luna.

Days 31-33 Salta
Skip across the border again, this time into Argentina. Wander the elegant streets of Salta city and perhaps take the cable car to the top of Cerro San Bernardo – the view of the surrounding mountains is spectacular.

Day 34 Cafayte
Nestled in a picturesque valley in the Andean foothills, Cafayate is a welcomed retreat. Learn about local wine production during an optional vineyard tour and take a walk through the surrounding countryside.

Day 35 Quilmes
Drive through the beautiful Argentinean landscape to the Tucuman province. Camp near the ancient Quilmes Ruins.

Days 36-38 Estancia Stay
Pitch a tent on a working cattle farm and experience traditional Argentine hospitality. Enjoy a famous asado barbecue washed down with some local red wines. Why not spend time exploring the vast pampas on horseback or maybe stop by a local school to meet the kids.

Day 39 Cordoba
Travel to Cordoba and admire the finest colonial architecture in Argentina. Enjoy losing time along the scenic streets of this vibrant university city.

Days 40-42 Buenos Aires
From tango classes to football games, it’s impossible to resist the passion and spirit of Argentina’s capital. Attractions are many and varied, from a visit to Recoleta Cemetery to see Eva Peron’s tombstone or a shopping spree in the funky Palermo Soho neighbourhood.
