Follow in the footsteps of great historical traders and adventurers.

The Silk Road was the trading super-highway of the ancient world. It connected east with west and was the route on which the most precious good, and most courageous explorers travelled. Without the world would be a very different place.

Following the Silk Road will take you on a grand tour through Central Asia and China taking in some of the most amazing cultural and historical sites in the world. En route we recommend visiting the magnificent Buddhist grottoes of the oasis town of Dunhuang, haggling with lcaosl at the Sunday Market of Kashgar and crossing the Torugart pass into Kyrgyzstan, one of Asia’s true hidden gems.

We recommend starting in Beijing and heading west towards Europe. The best time to travel in spring, thereby avoiding the worst of the heat and arriving in Kyrgyzstan as the alpine flowers begin to bloom. The sight of so many flowers in such amazing landscape is one of the world’s most spectacular views, and one that is sadly underappreciated.

This adventure is perfect for anyone who wants their adventure to have a journey as the base of it, as well as for anyone who loves history, or just wants to follow in the footsteps of explorers like Marco Polo.
