Explore the San Jose region of Costa Rica with a guided tour of the area and its fascinating landscape before setting off along the river on the rainforest boat trip.
From here on the trip becomes more than adventurous, with activities ranging from rafting mad rapids to horse riding and zip wiring, all aiming to pump your adrenaline levels to the max! As well as these, there is an exploration of the Tortuguero national park to pop in and see how the sea turtles are doing, they do like some company! Finally, this once in a lifetime trip can come to a close by a day of volunteering and a cultural day, which will teach you the understandings and beliefs that their culture is based upon.
Upon arrival you will be greeted, introduced and offered a free evening to relax, chill and take in the surroundings in preparation for the following days adventures. On waking the next morning, after a lie in of course, there will be a trip to the Doka coffee estate to give an insight to Costa Rica’s coffee industry. The following day, and things are starting to become more exciting, with a drive through the beautiful mountains and plantations to the Tortuguero canals where you will be floating down the next leg of the journey. The boat trip finishes early evening, not before a trip to the frog farm though. Yes, you heard right, the frog farm! The evening can consist either of relaxation for the next days adrenaline packed activities, or an optional turtle watch tour available by locals. The next day consists of a walk deep into the rainforest giving you the rare opportunity to see howler monkeys, caiman, otters, toucans and iguanas in their natural habitat.
After another day of exploring these phenomenal surroundings, you can take part in some of Costa Rica’s activities that will get your heart racing like no other! Starting with a three hour rafting trip on the Sarapiqui River, racing down class 3 rapids, you are sure to have a descent worth remembering! After this slightly wet trip down the river, you can have a ride at height on horseback, then adventure into the trees by zip wiring through the forest canopy, finishing off with some relaxation under canvas listening to the peaceful tranquility of the sounds of the rainforest.
Following this adventure packed day, you are in for a treat with some exciting rainforest canyoning, a volunteering and cultural day, with the opportunity to help others and have a significant impact on others lives. Towards the end of this incredible 12 day trip to Costa Rica, you will be able to relax and reflect upon your adventures here. Either that, or if your feeling really adventurous, take part in some more activities to complete your epic journey.
