About Big Earth

Big Earth was created by producer / director Russ Malkin, who spent 20-years successfully putting together international events and expeditions, including award-winning television programmes such as The Long Way Round.

On return from the rugged road, Russ and the Big Earth crew were contacted by thousands of travellers and people hungry for adventurous inspiration. They wanted to know how we coordinated our trips, the best places in the world for off-road trips and adventure sports, how we filmed our adventures, and what they, the likeminded traveller (that’s you too), could do to showcase their own journey or experience online, via editorial, photography and video.

This huge adventure-travel interest was, and still is the motivation behind the Big Earth crew setting up bigearth.co.uk So, we put our adventure heads together to enable people to be adventurous and inspired to plan and share big adventures with us and our Big Earth community.

From this came ‘Big Earth: 101 Amazing Adventures’ which was a travel guide jam-packed full of adventures that Russ had personally experienced and recommended to viewers as the best, most original adventure guide out there.

You may have noticed that we have moved from our old site. You can still visit old faithful, (www.bigearth.co.uk) if you wish, but rest assured, even more exciting content, photographs and advice is reachable here. Search through all the sections and find the adventure of a lifetime.

Like our name, the Big Earth crew is all about getting out there and sharing adventures, while looking after our big beautiful Earth.
