What an unforgettable way to explore Vietnam. This cycling adventure gives you the opportunity to experience local culture in a way that is not usually possible. An active adventure through a mesmerizing country through small villages, less travelled roads as well as experiencing a little bit of the hustle and bustle of Ho Chi Minh City. Not to mention indulging in the amazing Vietnamese cuisine.

The first two days are spent exploring Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam and the country’s second largest city. Witness an exciting blend of old Asia with the emergence of the new. Day 3 encompasses a beautiful day of cycling from Hanoi to Hoa Binh. Cycling past spectacular cliff formations, and the lush Mai Chau valley en route to Cun Pass. This is quite a high pass, giving the feeling of riding through the clouds. Stop to enjoy the serine views of the surrounding valley, finishing the day with a home stay in a little nearby village.

The aim of day 4 is to cycle to Ninh Binh. Start by cycling 30 km from Mai Chau to Mai Ha and on to Co Luong. If all goes well, still feeling energised, get ready for another 30 km adventure through the surrounding areas of Ninh Binh. Ninh Binh is a city in the Red River Delta of northern Vietnam, filled with beautiful temples nested in the lush greenery, as locals make use of the river.

From Ninh Binh, it’s time to get back on your bike and explore Tam Coc. Tam Coc, “three caves” are natural caves along the Ngo Dong River. Next, spend some time discovering the wonders of ancient Hoa Lau. This area is a combination of rice fields and picturesque mountains. An overnight train takes you to Hue. The overnight train is an experience in itself and yet another unique way to venture through Vietnam.

Hopping back on the saddle it’s time to explore the magnificent tombs, temples and palaces of this former imperial capital. Cycling through Hue means weaving in and out of pagodas and palaces for a riding experience like no other. Stop off at places along the way to explore on foot. The next part of the trip consists of overcoming the Hai Van Pass, rewarded with stunning coastal views. Then back on the bike to Cua Dai Beach, for a chance to immerse yourself in the peaceful and historic Hoi An.

The next part of the trip sees you venturing the road less travelled all the way to the remarkable bay of Quy Nhon, continuing along the glistening coast of Nha Trang. From the coast it’s time to take on the challenging mountain roads to Dalat, passing the Cham Tower and Bao Dai’s Summer Palace. Passing by the unique architecture of Hang Nga Crazy House. Pedal on to Ke Ga, a beautifully tranquil seaside village. Some time to discover what life is like living in coastal Vietnam. It’s coming to the end of your trip and time to embark upon your final two-day ride headed to the energetic Ho Chi Minh City. Here you can ride to the beat of the city before it’s time to return home.
